quote of the day

"There is a mysterious cycle in human events. To some generations much is given. Of other generations much is expected. This generation of Americans has a rendezvous with destiny."---Franklin D. Roosevelt

Thank you Franklin D. Roosevelt. However, there are too many people in every generation for any general statement to apply. Example: Young people in the 60's were all idealistic. Not true, only a small percentage were truly idealistic, most were busy making a living, love, babies, etc, etc. The greatest generation was supposed to be the people who lived through the depression and WWII. I don't buy it, I know too many people of that generation who were doing things that were not admirable and certainly not great.
Certainly historical events often impact masses of people at one time and this may illicit similar behaviors or patterns, but you get my point. I am just thankful for what ever historical matrix brought Barack Obama to the presidency.
