"Anyone under 18 can be eligible? Can’t they get a job during the summer by the time they are 16? Hunger can be a positive motivator." Missouri Representative Cynthia Davies on why the government should not provide free lunches for underprivileged children. The best and most disturbing part of this story is that Rep. Davies is head of the Children and Families Committee in the House. In her defence, Davies claims that her words were taken out of context, she does not say what context the words "Hunger s a positive motivator" would be okay in.

people like this really frighten me...she has no idea of the "real" world many people live in. I think someone recommended that she go hungry and see how motivated she would be. She is an idiot!
